Taylor Lautner plays gooseberry to Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson at Twilight convention

Three was definitely a crowd on the Twilight convention stage in Los Angeles on Saturday - as Taylor Lautner was left playing gooseberry to his co-stars Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson.

The chemistry was palpable between the two as they fielded questions with Lautner at the Twilight Saga: Eclipse convention at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.

Only eyes for each other: Pattinson and Stewart seemed oblivious to Lautner and the throngs of fans during their 30 minute on stage Q & A in Los Angeles on Saturday

During the 30 minute Q & A with fans Pattinson and Stewart were flirty with each other, sharing coy looks, whispering between themselves and enjoying many private jokes.

At one point Lautner provided some comic relief by turning his chair away from the couple to give them some "privacy".

Fighting to be heard above the throngs of screaming fans the three stars answered questions and talked about their sure to be hit movie.

Eclipse is the third installment of the Twilight vampire saga, following 2008's Twilight and 2009's New Moon.

Based on the novels by Stephenie Meyers the Twilight saga is a series of romantic-fantasy films centered around the characters of Jacob Black, a  werewolf, played by Taylor; Edward Cullen, a vampire, played by Pattinson and his girlfriend Bella Swan, played by Stewart.

In Eclipse Swan is forced to chose between her love of her vampire boyfriend and her close friendship with her werewolf pal.

In real life though Stewart has no tough decisions to make when it comes to her love life.

Stewart and Pattinson were rumored to be dating for months before Pattinson finally made it official, confirming they are dating to The Sun newspaper at the BAFTA awards back in February.

'It's extremely difficult but we are together, yes,' Pattinson said. 'We can't arrive at the same time because of the fans. It goes crazy.

'This was supposed to be a public appearance as a couple, but it's impossible. We are here together and it's a public event, but it's not easy.'

Twilight: Eclipse hits UK screens on July 9th - but if you can't wait till then, select cinemas will be holding special viewings on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th July.

Im sorry but i just dont get all the hype about this gal, I mean I think she just looks like the girl next door and thats after Hollywoods finest have done their best, worked on every bits of and dressed her!!!

I also dont even think she can act!!!

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart: when will the speculations stop?

As the release date of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is nearing the speculation of the actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart being a couple is notching up a bit further. The media and the tabloids cannot get enough of the, and even a mere friendly touch or holding hands and kisses are now being blown out of proportion and are termed as these new love birds cannot seem to be apart from each other.

But people here is a news flash, these two young actors happen to be working together. From the time they have become famous they have been working together and they will be continuing to do so since the Summit Entertainment is planning on two part finale of the Twilight series, Twilight: Breaking Dawn. Their Twilight films also takes them together for promoting so spotting them together at pubs or some social places shouldn’t be uncommon.

These two are just young people, who like any regular person can hang out and have fun, even kiss each other for fun. But for these speculations one cannot deny the publicity that their films garner. One can only hope that people stop spreading such rumours like the couple are searching for a house together, or Robert is not interested in settling down with Kristen. These two actors have quite a long way to go, give them the space to breath, even they are afraid of being judged if Kristen’s recent interview is anything to go by.
