Cameron Diaz In A Jude Law and Leonardo DiCaprio Sandwich?

cameron-diaz-in-a-jude-law-and-leonardo-dicaprio-sandwich-page-view-img-5

Cameron Diaz Image Hollywood Choas

She already nabbed the likes of Justin Timberlake and Matt Dillon, but leave it up to Cameron Diaz to have her choice between Leonardo DiCaprio and Jude Law. Dream love triangle? Signs point to…err–maybe? Apparently both actors have been on secret dates with the actress recently.

Crocs ‘Dead and They Don’t Know It’

Crocs ‘Dead and They Don’t Know It’

Photo: Getty Images

Good news! Crocs might disappear as soon as September. The shoemaker has until the end of September to pay off its debt. Last year the company lost $185.1 million. They cut about 2,000 jobs, but still owe creditors millions. The Washington Post reports:

"The company's toast," said Damon Vickers, who manages an investment fund at Nine Points Capital Partners in Seattle. "They're zombie-ish. They're dead and they don't know it."

After, against all logic, the company managed to sell 100 million pairs of shoes over seven years, they made millions more shoes to meet demand. They even made charms with which to adorn them. Luckily the universe has no room for this sort of hideousness, and as fate would have it, the economy crashed. Crocs customers realized their money is best spent on anything other than that absurdly ugly footwear.

Two summers ago, Nancy Fisher of the District bought two pairs of Crocs, one green and one pink, for her daughters. The girls, now 8 and 12, wore them constantly and even got charms to decorate the tops. This year, the shoes are forgotten.

"They were their go-to," Fisher said, "and now they're just really interested in flip-flops."

Praise! But the company is in denial about their imminent demise. They recently hired a new CEO to lead the seemingly pointless exercise of trying to keep Crocs afloat. He's telling analysts George Clooney has promised to work with the company. We thought George had decent taste, but it makes perfect sense: Someone as rich as he is hasn't felt the economic force that knocked the beer goggles off so many other Crocs customers.

Rihanna Shaved Part of Her Head

Rihanna Shaved Part of Her Head

Photo: Splashnews

It looks like Rihanna is piggybacking on the half-shaved head trend with a new partly shaved look of her own. She clipped the sides and back of her head, leaving a thick pompadour on top. It's like an updated version of the nineties boy cut. We think it works for her, but what say you?

Just Because It’s Hot Out Doesn’t Mean You Have to Wear See-through Clothes

Just Because It’s Hot Out Doesn’t Mean You Have to Wear See-through Clothes

Not only are nipples fashion's hottest new accessory, but lately, an increasing number of images are surfacing of lady celebrities doing things out-of-doors in shirts that are completely see-through. Above you see Lily Allen onstage on July 11 in what is probably lingerie; Lindsay Lohan walking around outside in what appears to be a piece of gauze, which reveals she's wearing an unlined lace bra; and Rihanna in the West Village last week wearing a sheer black top over what looks like a striped bathing-suit top. Rihanna recently took things a step further when she sported only sequined nipple pasties under a blazer on the fourth of July. Compared to that, the above look may as well be a nun's habit. But that doesn't make it less concerning.

We've yet to notice — and please do note in the comments if you've seen something different — a surge of see-through clothes on the streets. But if pantslessness is catching on in nightclubs (we've seen girls wearing as bottoms lamé booty biker shorts and slashed leggings — both equally offensive) it's only a matter of time before essential shirtlessness catches on, too. Perhaps the proliferation of see-through clothing is owed to the rising summer temperatures. But when not properly layered with things other than lingerie (or nothing in Lily Allen's case), these garments just look desperate and vulgar. Is an opaque top in 84-degree weather really so bothersome? No. No, it is not.

Audrina Patridge for Divine Rights of Denim

Audrina Patridge for Divine Rights of Denim

Audrina Patridge for Divine Rights of Denim

Audrina Patridge of The Hills fame has stepped up to become the new celebrity endorser for Divine Rights of Denim. This brand of denim is a favourite of The Hills’ girls and the good news is that unlike most designer jeans with a £200 price tag, Divine Rights of Denim are around £40 - £60 and are really good quality too.

But getting back to Audrina, she has been photoshopped to hell in this picture, almost to the point where she isn’t recognisable, which poses the question - why have a celebrity endorse your product if you can’t even recognise the celebrity?

9 Tips on How to Be a Fashion Designer

  1. Follow what your heart desires. It doesn’t matter whatever you want to become. Most likey than not, people that follows their heart succeed more than people who follows conditioning.
  2. Be resourceful. A fashion designer should know the basics, specially if you’re starting and don’t have enough budget. This should NOT stop you to do what you love to do.
  3. Be creative. It’s always good to know the trends, but it doesn’t mean you’ll sacrifice your creativity and uniqueness. Your idea should be dominant on what you create because it is from you that you want to share the world.
  4. Know Limits. In fashion industry, there are always a lot of rules and no-no’s but when it comes to looking good, you should knowthat you are not a slave to that rules.
  5. Do Not Sacrifice Creativity. Do not sacrifice your creativity to the rules, yet do not overly abuse going against the acceptable limitations.
  6. Start Your Own. Do not wait to be discovered by someone known to fashion. Start Your Own and they will find you. People have different ways to do it, some join reality contests on TV, some risk and put up their own boutique, some do it to do it themselves.
  7. You Are Your First Model. How you dress and style yourself will the first judgment. If people think you dress great and they would always want to know where did you get it from? That’s the best way to advertise your own creation.
  8. Know How to Dance. I didn’t mean literally, but it’s cool if you will do it like that! lol…I mean, you should know the flow of the industry to succeed, just like the crisis that is happening right now, create solutions to the problem. Know what to do in certain situation.
  9. Be Innovative. Know how to mix and match ideas that will work in fabrics. Sometimes the sketches wouldn’t look as great in the output if you chose the wrong materials. Be artistic and flowy, don’t stick to a formula that doesn’t work for you, it might not be for you.

Colour me Mummy

Still rockin' the super short bleached bangs, Christina Aguilera was spotted with Max on her hip and paint on her arm after a pottery session. Witnesses said Christina was helping Max made a Father's Day gift for daddy Jordan Bratman – how cute!

Not getting tired of the legging look, Mamaguilera dressed ubercomfy in a purple plaid shirt, pink creamsicle tee and of course standard black leggings. Christina stayed true to her traditional pink pout and bright red nail polish.

Christina has been keeping busy lately in the studio, getting ready to release her new "futuristic" album later this year. The album features plenty of girl-power collaborations with Le Tigre, Australian star Sia, Goldfrapp and Ladytron. It's supposed to echo her two singles off the greatest hits album last year, "Keeps Gettin' Better" and "Dynamite." Are any of you fans of the new electronic sound, or do you like the jazzy, pin curls and rouge lipped "Back to Basics" Christina better?

I think this little dress is great

Sailor Stripe Cardigan

Sailor Stripe Cardigan

This gorgeous navy and cream striped granddad cardigan, available from Motel Rocks, would look great over dresses or a rock chick tee and skinny jeans. It embraces the Summer 09 Nautical trend and is a snip at £49.

Motel Rocks is fast becoming my favourite online fashion site and I love spending an afternoon wondering around there shop on Park Street in Bristol. As well as stocking their own label, they also throw in some vintage finds for good measure.

Beaching beauty top 7 beach going essentials

Top 7 beach going essentials

Seeing as the weather is warming and many of you are packing for your Summer Holidays, I though why not create a top 7 beach essentials list?

Apparently straw fedoras will be big (again) this summer. To ensure “non-dime-a-dozen-ness” I say pass on that trend and opt for a pretty, wide-brimmed sunhat. Admit it, it sucks having the same hat as that girl across the street, and the one in liquor store, oh yeah…and the one sitting next to you on the sand. You catch my drift.

This J.Crew stripe beach hat in bright daffodil is pretty cute, the yellow stripe is something fresh and different for summer.

I think this summer, I am opting for a bandeau style swimsuit, although I do love the vintage glamour of this Victoria’s Secret suit…

It also comes in coral!

I will also be on the hunt for a reasonably priced straw tote to throw everything into, but until then, a brightly colored canvas one will do.

Target
Mossimo CORE Tote Canvas in Blue

Sunscreen is definitely necessary and this Alba Hawaiian Sun Aloe Vera Sunscreen smells great and isn’t greasy. And I would be completely lost if I didn’t bring my favorite lip balm in the whole world with me. This smell of this stuff reminds me of the beach and works like a miracle.

Blistex Daily Conditioning Treatment for Lips is made with cocoa butter, aloe, vitamin E and has an SPF 20 in it.

A book is essential on my beach trips. Lately I’ve had a growing fascination with the troubled and talented Zelda Fitzgerald, Save Me the Waltz is on my must-read list this summer.

There was a time in my life where I thought putting coconut oil in my ocean-wet hair was a great idea. I foolishly thought I was luxuriously moisturizing it in the summer sun while letting it air dry, when really I was cooking it. It took years for my hair to finally recover, and now I make sure to take a leave in conditioning spray with me instead. This Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-In Conditioner smells so good! Spraying this into ocean damp hair and tucking it up under your fancy sun hat is a better idea.

Trenches and Coats are a hot Spring-Summer 2009 Fashion Trend

trenches-and-coats-2009-trend1

Trench coats are one of the hottest trends for spring 2009. Luckily for your budget, you won’t have to spend a lot to wear this versatile look. Beat the rain, wind and fashion snobs this spring with one of these stylish – yet wallet-friendly – trench coat picks.

Actually, Trenches and coats are not a new trend. Way back in the 1920s to 1940s, femme fatale Greta Garbo graced the cinema screens in classy, yet sexy trench coats.

Some trends never die out. They become classics and the trench coat is one such classic.

This year Marc Jacobs and Yves Saint Laurent present their trendy feminine coats. Both has it’s own signature.

Marc Jacobs presents his extra feminine coat-dress. It’s completely sensitive! Scarf-belt is an excellent decision for special evenings. While, The trenches and coats from Yves Saint Laurent are a tender femininity. Black elegance decored with ornament or belt as an obligatory accessory stressing the thing waist. It’s really chic and dashing! Calvin Klein presents the line of light colors and structural lines for Spring 2009, so does Ralph Lauren.

trenches-and-coats-2009-trend-2

Today’s trench coats have feminine details (even ruffles). They also come in modern fabrics like patent leather and bold, unconventional, bright colors like a stunning scarlet, Furthermore, we have to focus not only on colors but we have to choose the right accessories and footwear for an amazing combination.

One of the things I like most about the trench coat is its sheer versatility. I mean, you can wear it with just about everything. Actually, the timeless appeal of trench coats lie in you. If you can’t resist the temptation of wearing skirt then you can choose a cropped or a short trench coat depending on your taste. Wear that over your pencil skirt for work. Over your office suit. A trench coat looks proper enough for the office, even as it keeps you warm. Wear it on weekends with polo ralph pants and boots. or on a date over a sheer dress. Trench coats go with everything. I love to pair a faded jeans with my gorgeous Ralph Lauren hot pink trench with a sheen. Faux mother of pearl buttons and belt buckle. So pretty! Finally, Get a hairstyle of fringe cut along with sunglasses, and pick up a cute shoulder bag.

So, if you are getting just one thing for yourself this Spring and especially if you aren’t shaped like a runway model, get yourself a trench. Because the trench coat is godsend.

Colour Trends for 2009/2010 Autumn/Fall/Winter

2009 color trends Fashion colour trend analysis is a major influence in how many a designer approaches their new season collections, and while we've already seen all the catwalks from the major labels smaller clothes labels will still be looking for inspiration. And so will many of us. Pantone have made that easy with the release of their 2009 colour trends for Fall/Autumn guide.

Key Fashion Trend Groups

German based European Trend Institute (eti) have thrown their hat into the ring with their four key looks for women in the colder months of 2009/2010.

Realistic

Urban rationality and the search for the perfect look leave their stamp on a cool, rational atmosphere. Quiet Neutrals reflect mineral structures. Diffuse metallic reflexes provide a modern gloss. Fabrics are fine-threaded and compact. Doubles, sandwich weaves and ultrathick technics shape the silhouettes. Graphic patterns have a softer look and larger repeats. Silk and Jersey provide a feminine contrast. Crystals, shimmering metal and varnish ornaments provide spectacular deco effects.

Sensitive

Nature inspires a rich, soft materiality. Like the precious fullness of furs, high-quality fabric volumes create a cosy feel. Brightly warm nuances and dusty tones provide the basis for tone-in-tone looks with strong surface contrasts. Hairy overcoat qualities are declined via light flannels to semi-transparent crepes. A strong focus is put on melange optics and colour shadings. Velvets sensitively translate soft pastels. Lace and devores stage seductive fancies.

Magical

Mysterious forests are full of surprising creatures. The feathers of the birds, the markings of the furs play with a palette of warm brown and vegetal green tones. Authentic materiality breathes an expressive casual spirit. Organic cotton and eco- friendly qualities have a high priority. Full cottons with structures and worker denim provide a contrast to milled and velour optics. Checks celebrate a real comeback from tartans right through to Canadienne checks with an ombre effect. Prints redefine animal motives in complex fashion.

Expressive

In the age of networking, sampling cultures and artistic influences is simply child's play. Folk, hippie and arty worlds flow into each other. With multicoloured stimulation, the colour series lives from powerful impulses. Unusual associations of cold/warm contrasts produce tension and new colour sounds. Multicoloured tweeds and colourful checks provide coloured fabrics with a new rhythm. Recycled yarns generate random effects. Folk and neohippie prints show their colours. Ultra-lightweight technics and coloured denims stand for sportsmanship.

The 2009 Colour Blocking Trend

color-block-trend-london

According to Vogue and their little trends guide (with Topshop) as well as numerous catwalk shows, colour-blocking is a big trend this season. For Summer 2009 they favour blushing pink beiges, neutrals, creamy whites, and tones of slate blue. Such softer dusty tones are easy tints to mix and match with existing black, navy or other neutrals, the result is a new more ladylike wardrobe.

Colour blocking with strong brights of hot pink orange, tangerine and lime are popular. There are also other brights such as Yves klein blue, Santorini blue, yellow lemon, lime, aqua jade tones, bright perinkle and magenta. This garment can be worn alone or block together with enthusiasm of the designers.

Depending on your natural colouring, you’ll get away with different colors to a different degree of success. There are a few little tricks that will make wearing clashing bright colours available for all.

Those women with light and soft looks will be overpowered by wearing bright colors but best in muted. But can actually use a shoes, polo ralph lauren and designer handbags in Turquoise or Blush Pink to add an element of the bright trend. It is better to keep away bright items from your face if wearing bright color is not enough for you. Try coloured ralph lauren jeans or skirt then match it with a top softer and two tones lighter in the same colour.

Fashion trends come and go every year but this doesn’t mean that you have to take it to the extreme exactly to waht you see on runways, magazines and in the shop displays. Mix and match both soft and bold colours in the latest silhouttes to add zest to your existing wardword, keeps you up to date without having to spend a fortune or change your look completely.

Alexander Wang High Waisted Zip Jean

Alexander Wang High Waisted Zip Jean

How hot are these high waisted jeans from designer extraordinaire, Alexander Wang? Granted you wouldn’t be able to eat all day while you were wearing them but they do have impact and I do love the full length zipper running along the leg of the jean. No one but no one does sporty lux like Mr Wang. These bad boys are available from Shopbop and are $375.

Jessica Simpson Swimwear: A New Line Of Teeny Bikinis From The Hot Blonde

Okay maybe you don't want to get all sudsed up and splay yourself across the hood of the Dukes of Hazzard car in your bikini, but you can still channel Jessica Simpson when you hit the beach, thanks to her new line of swimwear.

0622jessica-simpson-swimwear_a.jpeg

Swimwear pro Red Carter has teamed up with the blonde bombshell to create the Jessica Simpson Swim Collection, the latest addition to her ever-expanding fashion portfolio (remember the news of her jewelry line? It's just arriving in stores.) While the goods won't be in stores until December, we've got your sneak peek right here.

0622jessica-simpson-swimwear2_fa.jpeg

The line will be made up of swim separates (a smart move, consideringhow hard it is for most of us to buy swimsuits), and cover-ups in "nautical prints to bold modern graphics." Like the rest of the stuff bearing Ms. Simpson's name, the line will be very well priced--£35 to £50 for separates and up to £120 for cover-ups. It'll be in department and specialty stores just in time for your winter getaway in December.

DSquared designs for Britney Spears

It looks like the Dsquared design duo, Dean and Dan Caten, have up sticks and run away to join the Circus! The jammy pair have quite possibly snagged the best design job ever - designing Britney Spears‘ tour costumes for her current Circus tour.

These sketches are beautiful and very detailed, but don’t you think they look a little more like Pamela Anderson then Britney?

Five Words Or Less: Lady Gaga's Latest Stage Look Has The Power To ______.

There's pretty much nothing fashion frontierswoman Lady Gaga could do to surprise us in the realm of the sartorial arts, right? She's pioneered the pantsless look currently sweeping the celebrity style nation, created hair accessories from actual hair, and considers electrical tape underwear. How much more insane could things really get, you ask?

0622-lady-gaga-much-music-awards_fa.jpg

I present to you Exhibit 2,677,543. Lady Gaga's outfit is quite literallyon fire. She performed at the 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto last night, and when she took to the stage to do "Poker Face" (for which she nabbed the Best International Video Artist award), her black studded bustier exploded in a feat of pyrotechnics.

This fall, Lady Gaga will go on tour with fashion's other envelope-pusher-of-the-moment, Kanye West. He's admitted he won't even try to compete with her in the wardrobe department, and after seeing her stage getup this weekend, I don't blame him for chickening out. The woman has fireworks for nipples!

So let's hear what you have to say about her smoking hot ensemble (sorry! I couldn't resist). In five words or less....

Lady Gaga's latest stage look has the power to __________.

Want more? Five words or less: Lake Bell looks _______ in Louis Vuitton.

New shots of Nicole Richie for House of Harlow 1960

I just came across these lovely pictures of Nicole Richie, who is promoting her House of Harlow jewellery line. They are very different to the Blackbook magazine pictures I revieved yesterday, but goes to show Nicole is a versatile model, who knows how to take a picture.

I am actually a big fan of the House of Harlow jewellery line and feel that the pieces really reflect Nicole’s personal sense of style; nobody does hippy chic like Ms Richie. The line is currently available at Shopbop
