How Can I Make My Eyes Look Bigger?
Always curl lashes before applying mascara. You can actually curl lashes AFTER mascara is applied, as long as your mascara is dried (a good tip to know if you want to curl your lashes later in the day without removing your mascara).
Individual false lashes are exotic, gorgeous and can look natural if applied correctly. Large cities offer "lash bars" in the hottest department stores. (Henri Bendel, Bergdorfs and more, for example) but I expect the counters at most department stores will have experts in false lashes. Ask at yours.
4For a doe-eyed, seductive look, makeup artist try lining your lower lids with a creamy white eye pencil. White liner may sound odd, but it really opens up the eye. You can also try putting it on the inside corner of both your upper and your lower lids.
Another way to open up eyes is to skip the white eyeliner and opt instead for a platinum highlighter. Dot along the browbone, then blend in. Apply highlighter at the inner corners of your eyes. Follow with eye shadow.
Make sure your brows are manicured. Until you get your brows professionally waxed, tweezed or threaded, you won't realize how much they affect the rest of your face. Cleaning up your brow line of stray hairs, adding a slight arch and filling in sparse spots are key to making eyes look much larger.
I find once you get a professional brow job, you can do it yourself for a few months using the pro job as a "map" of where to tweeze. To keep brows in place, try a clear eyebrow gel like Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara or just spritz a bit of hairspray onto an old toothbrush and brush brows in perfect place.

Dark Sparkle
These clothes manage to evoke the '80s without resorting to retro. In fact, shapes are sporty. It's all surface interest.
How to Wear It
Though it's occasion dressing, lighten the mood by tossing it on with something more basic instead of dressing it up. Jewelry is overkill, but you can show some leg.

Fashion Trends To Avoid in 2009/2010
Double denim fashion trend: just say no!
Avoid this trend' section, Please. You see there's a lot of designers and celebrities trying to bring back history's greatest fashion crime: double denim.
Double denim fashion trend: it's fugly
Born in the 80's I'm too young to remember any of its culture, instead preferring endless memories of Thomas The Tank Engine. That may be a lie actually, I do remember part of the culture. I remember perms. I remember mullets. I remember a plethora of crimes committed against my young eyes by baby boomers who should have known better (though that generation aren't exactly known for getting anything right). And amongst those heinous crimes which aided the development of my acute sense of loathing all things 80s is double denim.
Which brings me to some terrible news dear readers: double denim is back.
But there's hope. There's hope that we've caught it soon enough. There's hope that I can show people the error of their ways before double denim spreads. Normally fully behind the majority of fashion trends and micro-trends, I am labelling the double denim fashion trend the major faux pas amongst all of 2009's fashion trends and 2010's fashion trends
Who Has Designed It For 2009/2010
The biggest culprit to date has been William Rast's Autumn (Fall)/Winter 2009/2010 catwalk but given we're only a quarter of the way through the 2009/2010 fashion week season we're sure to encounter more.
People To Mock
Mock is a nasty word, but this is the nastiest fashion trend we've seen on women's 2009 and 2010 catwalk and already there are plenty of people wearing it.
Amongst them are the likes of Kanye West who has paired the look with his afro-mullet hair style. We've also spotted double denim in a number of street style pictures recently.
More double-denim examples
Heidi Klum in double-denim. Possibly.
Pete Wentz does it with Double Denim
Triple-denim? Jennifer Love Hewitt, please, no!
Christina Ricci proves double denim is horrible
Reasons To Avoid This Trend
- You'll look dull. Look at William Rast's Autumn (Fall)/Winter 2009/2010 collection above (the three models, centre to right, in the top picture).
- First double denim and then what? The return of the perm? The popularisation of the neo-mullet? I'd mention killer shoulder pads but Marc Jacobs has already destroyed that part of humanity. Read 'Beyond Double Denim' below to learn of other things which may make a come-back as a result.
- A plethora of bad photos of you will be taken. They'll end up in our street style coverage oron Facebook, said photos will then proceed to spread around the world. In a few years you'll mock yourself for wearing it. In 2050 your grandchildren will still be mocking you. Your great-grandchildren will deny your existence.
- It'll bring about Armageddon (note: completely unfounded fact, but do you want to risk it?)
- Thus you'll regret it.
- Did I mention you'll regret it?
Beyond Double Denim
If our eyes were to suddenly cease working and we accepted the return of double denim, it's easy to follow through to its natural conclusion.
That's right: perms, acid wash denim, and hammer pants.
Is there hope?
There's always hope, but stopping double denim becoming a fashion trend is going to mean stopping all those people who used to think trucker caps were cool from rediscovering it.
And that, my dear readers, is akin to charity work.

How to Dress Like a Model
Do you daydream about dressing like some of those fabulous girls you see on the catwalk and in magazines? Well, you can dress like them, and add your own touch of style, too.
Inspiration. You don't want to be exactly like one certain model, but you can use her as an inspiration and style plate for your own wardrobe. It can be tricky to find just one model to follow; you may love the things she wears in her first spread, but hate the stuff she wears in the second. If that is the case, you can adopt several similar-style role models, and borrow your favorite fashion statements from each. In addition, you NEVER want to copy EVERYTHING a certain model does. She is simply there for inspiration, though I find it more inspiring to look through fashion magazines, or surf the web for whatever I like. Being a model isn't always about following the trends, it's about showing off what YOU think looks good, and hopefully inspiring others- making you the trend setter.
- Answer a very simple question: are you loaded or are you broke?
- If you are stinking rich then buy fashion magazines (like Vogue, ELLE, Cosmopolitan, etc.) and buy whatever your adopted model wears. The magazine will mention to the smallest detail the gear that the beauty is wearing. Don't be afraid to experiment with different mixed-model looks.
- If you are scarce with money, follow the example of animals that are too lazy to fight others: camouflage. Open same fashion magazines as above (borrow them, browse them in the shop) and watch what your adopted model is wearing. Note the colors and the combination. Then go to a second hand shop or to an outlet shop and buy something cheap that closely resembles what you just saw on the magazine. Unless people handle it and check labels and as long as you treat the garment with care, none will be the wiser about your deceptive tactics. Additionally, thrift shops and consignment stores open up a whole new world in the way of unique and fresh style that can be fashionable and totally yours.
- Be Healthy! Looking great will help everyone notice your model clothing. Remember, clothes can on enhance what you already have. You don't need to be a size zero or negative two or whatever to Look Beautiful. Simply take care of yourself, hit the gym two or three times a week. Eat healthier, Take Care of Your Skin and Hair.
- Build Self Confidence. Don`t care what people say if you feel you look good strut your stuff down the street like its a catwalk, if you don`t go change. This is a crucial step when dressing like a Model. It's important to know that you look and feel good in what you are wearing, whether it's high-end fashion or a bargain bin find; if you feel you look great in it, then you will look great.
- Make-up Oddly, a lot of girls seem to think make-up will change everything. Some wear foundation that is too dark for their skin color, because they think they will not be as pale. But the purpose of make-up isn't to "cover-up" your beauty, it is to enhance your beauty. To "look like a model", you don't have to wear a ton of make-up. Washing your face regularly helps more than anything. If you have a lot of acne, even with make-up, there's not a lot you can do. A little concealer helps if you have a blemish or two, some light blush and some mascara on the top lashes usually gives you a clean, natural look. Eye shadow is always pretty too, but extremes colors like blue, green, and black are only good for parties, night events, etc. Also, some light pink or peach lip gloss always helps, but it's best if you blot it with a tissue. Shiny is okay, but pasty and sticky isn't attractive.
- Do not pack a bunch of makeup on your face. Your face will start to break out and you might end up looking like a clown with all that make up. Also hold your head up high and be fierce. Smile at random people and strut. Wear trendy yet comfortable clothes, your jewelry must always shine too.
TIPS
If you feel that none of the magazine styles are working for you, experiment! Get different clothes and accessories, and see what looks best on YOU. As long as you feel happy and confident about the way you look, you can look better than a model. (And at least you'll look real).
- Remember you can always customize your clothes or get a professional to turn them into something completely different.
- Remember that fashion models (runway and catwalk ones especially) are often very thin. Don't do anything too drastic to look like them - being healthy is the key to looking good. TOO skinny isn't pretty. No matter what body type, being healthy and confident is as BEAUTIFUL as it gets.
- If you know how to sew, you can even make your own dresses or clothes you find in Fashion Magazines.
